Faith + Obedience = Salvation?
Jerry Shugart
If it takes faith plus obedience in order to be saved then what level of
obedience is required?
In other words, what must a believer do in order to inherit eternal life
according to his obedience? Is he just supposed to do the best that he can
do to live a moral life? In my case I know that I have not always done my
best to live that kind of a life so am I disqualified from ever attaining
the eternal life which is in Christ Jesus?
Ro 4:8
I never said that Christians do not have the responsibility to obey God.
Justification and sanctification are two different
things (Jas
2:20). Everyone has faith.
The type of faith they have? That's a different story altogether.
Tell me what level of obedience must a believer have in order to receive His
Spirit.
Are you a lawbreaker? If you are, then you are
still under the law (1 Ti 1:9). Our law is higher.

Justification and sanctified are the same, they happen the same time for the
same reason.
You plan to clean yourself up before you come to the Lord?
He'll be here before then.

Since salvation is by grace through faith...
You sure? Because you keep asking the same
question?

You don't do right and you've never done a good

Yes, we are supposed to repent of our sinful lifestyle.
When is that going to happen?

[To another member] First you say that salvation is by grace through faith.
And then you say that only those who obey Him receive his Spirit. Please
answer Paul's question here:
"This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the
law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the
Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?" (Gal.3:2-3).
Justification and sanctification are two different
things. Get yourself a Savior (Rom.
3:26,
27).
